Accuracy is important for Farang Deaths. However, since Farang Deaths‘ sources are limited, documented cases and published statistics cannot draw an accurate picture regarding deaths of foreign nationals and tourists in Thailand.
As mentioned in the section “Sources,” Farang Deaths depends on reports published in local and international news media. However, a high number of cases does not make into the media, especially when the cause of death is natural or – in the eyes of editors – not considered newsworthy enough to be published. This influences the accuracy of Farang Deaths.
With around 30 million foreigners visiting Thailand every year and a substantial amount of expatriates living there on a long-term basis, the number of how many of them have died in the Kingdom remains unknown. The Thai government only publishes a fraction of the actual number of deaths in Thailand.
Please keep these facts in mind when using Farang Deaths.
