André Petrus Germaine Arbyn

The body of a 57-year-old Belgian man was found in his flat in South Pattaya, Thailand, yesterday.

Andre Arbyn had been renting room number 303 on the third floor of The Lofts Pratumnak in Pattaya’s Bang Lamung district for a year. He was found prostrate and partially clothed on his bedroom floor.

Third-floor residents noticed an unpleasant odour emanating from his flat. It is thought Mr Arbyn’s corpse lay undiscovered for at least two days before it was found.

According to Pattaya One, police said there were no obvious signs of a disturbance in his room nor any injuries found on the victim’s body. Police believe the cause of death is most likely due to natural causes, but have not been specific.

Mr Arbyn’s body has been sent for a detailed post-mortem examination. The Belgian Embassy in Bangkok has been notified of the case.
