Chen Xiao Wen

Yet another Chinese tourist has drowned while on holiday in Thailand, Thai news website Manager Online reported.

The victim was identified as 27-year-old Chen Xiao Wen. According to Pol Maj Sagon Kamyingyong of Phe Police Station, the incident happened during a diving trip to Ta Lu island in Rayong province Ms Chen attended along with two of her friends to explore the coral reef.

Swangpron Rescue workers recovered the woman and rushed her to Phe Local Hospital on the mainland. However, continuous resuscitation attempts by medical staff failed and Ms Chen passed away in the emergency room.

Phe police has notified the Chinese embassy and is currently investigating the surrounding circumstances.
