Collin James Aves
Pattaya police are still waiting for the autopsy report of a 57-year-old foreigner who was found dead in his apartment on Tuesday.
The incident took place at a condominium in Pattaya’s Nong Prue subdistrict of Chon Buri province. Earlier in the day, a tenant had reported a foul smell emerging from one of the rooms, prompting a security guard to look into the matter.
Once the guard confirmed that the odour was coming from room number 316 on the 7th floor, he knocked the door, but did not get a response. The guard decided to break open the door open whereupon he found the dead body.
Police in Pattaya told Channel 8 that the deceased, whom the Thai news media named as 57-year-old Collin James Aves was lying naked and face-up on the floor of his apartment. According to a doctor on the scene, Mr Aves had been dead for at least five days.
So far, police have declined to mention the nationality of Mr Aves and the cause of death was not established on the scene. An autopsy has been scheduled to determine the exact cause of death.
