A collision between a scooter and a pickup truck ended deadly for a Myanmarese national and injured his riding pillion.
Officers of Thalang Police Station arrived at the scene of the accident shortly after midnight, July 8. Scattered over Si Sunthon Rd, about 800 metres from the Thao Thep Kasattri Thao Si Sunthon Monument, were a dented pickup truck and a severely damaged red and black Honda Wave scooter.
On the road, police found two severely injured Myanmarese national. Whereas one of them could be rescued by emergency workers, but for Ji, 26 years of age, any assistance arrived too late. He succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the accident.
Thalang Police said the driver of the pickup reported that a motorbike with no headlights was coming from nowhere and collided with him. Mr Ji and his riding pillion were then violently thrown off their scooter.
Both vehicles were taken to Thalang Police Station while police investigate the incident. The body of Mr Ji and the injured passenger were taken to Thalang Hospital.
