Two weeks after his disappearance, a 35-year-old German tourist was found dead in Khao Sok National Park in Phuket. A private detective hired by the man’s family discovered the body.

The German daily Weißenburger Tagblatt published the missing person’s report of Joachim Brandt from Weißenburg in Bavaria on March 27 on Facebook. The news was widely spread in the expat and tourist community and was shared on Facebook over 1000 times.

According to the post, Mr Brandt, 35, had checked in into a room at Khao Sok Island Resort several days earlier. On the day of his disappearance, he withdrew money from his bank account. Authorities found his luggage in his room.
