Kim Si Wu
The family of a young boy was shocked after they witnessed their son drowning in the pool of a hotel in Chon Buri.
A brief moment of inattention was enough for two South Korean parents to lose sight of their 11-year-old teenage son. The boy had been swimming in the hotel pool; his parents were relaxing on the sun loungers next to the pool.
But only minutes later, their son Kim Si Wu had sunken to the floor of the pool. What initially appeared to be a joke quickly turned out to be a situation between life and death. “Mr Wu did not move or showed any other signs of consciousness,” deputy investigator Pol Capt Naret Sudsakon from Mueang Kanchanaburi Provincial Police Station said.
The incident happened at a three-star accommodation located in Kanchanaburi’s Tha Makham district, around 4 kilometres from the famous River Kwai Bridge. Even though volunteers the local rescue foundation appeared quickly on the scene, his life could not be saved. Mr Wu was pronounced dead before he arrived at Kanchanaburi Memorial Hospital.
