A 45-year-old Dutch expatriate was found dead in front of his house in Prachuap Khiri Khan province Sunday afternoon.
According to Thai language news website Daily News, Prachuap Khiri Khan Provincial Police Station had received a report in the early afternoon regarding a foreigner who had died in his house.
When police officers, rescue volunteers and medical staff from Prachuap Khiri Khan Hospital arrived at the house on 17 Nong Kham Rd, they discovered the body of a 45-year-old Dutch man named Mr Ladinos (first name not reported) laying shirtless on the floor of the terrace.
Police investigation revealed the man had lived alone in the two-storied rented house and was often seen driving a red tractor manufactured by Siam Kubota. This made Mr Ladinos well-known in the area and brought him the nickname “Kubota Farang” among local residents.
Medical staff suspect the man had collapsed and died from a heat stroke caused by the hot weather. His body was sent to Prachuap Khiri Khan Hospital to confirm the cause of death. The Dutch embassy in Bangkok has been notified.
