Lim Hyun Soo

Passengers on a scheduled flight from Phuket to South Korea’s capital Seoul made a scary experience when the co-pilot died after suffering from a heart attack in the cockpit.

As the crew Eastarjet flight ZE532 prepared for their 5 hours and 45 minutes trip to Incheon International Airport in Seoul, co-pilot Lim Hyun Soo complained about difficulties breathing.

When his condition worsened, he was sent to Thalang Hospital close to the airport where he suffered a cardiac arrest. Doctors tried to save his life by performing CPR but failed. 41-year-old Mr Lim was pronounced dead at around 16:00.

Eastarjet cancelled the flight following the tragic event and brought all 186 passengers to nearby hotels while a replacement flight was being arranged.
