Lyudmila Griaznova

A 29-year-old Russian woman died in Phuket hospital few days after she was hit by a scooter, Thaipoo.com reported.

On Friday, Karon Police was informed about a traffic accident on Patak Rd. After arriving on the scene, police officers and rescue volunteers from the Kusoldham Rescue Foundation found the unconscious 29-year-old Liudmila Griaznova lying on the pavement.

Witnesses said the Russian woman was crossing the road near the On-Lee Restaurant. She was then fatally hit by a Thai man on a scooter.

Ms Griaznova was rushed to Vachira Hospital but succumbed to her injuries three days later. As Pol Col Weerayut Thansirisookworakun told the Russian edition of The Phuket News, relatives of Ms Griaznova have already organised the repatriation of her body to Russia.

The 41-year-old motorbike driver was charged with reckless driving causing death.
