A long-term expatriate is the latest victim of Thailand’s dangerous roads. The deceased, Mickey Davey, died in a motorcycle accident.
The fatal accident occurred between 20:00-21:00 when he collided with a car while he was either going to or coming back from the T Bar Restaurant in Udon Thani’s Nong Bua Rd: a bar where he had been a regular guest. Mr. Davey was a British citizen and had lived in the town of Ramsgate before moving to Udon Thani.
The sad news was reported by Mr. Davey’s wife, Jai, who did not disclose any further information. A user of the popular online forum Udon Map>, informed other members of Mr Davey’s demise. Another Udon Map user said he has heard that Mr Davey had lain in the Udon Thani Hospital for three hours before succumbing to his injuries.
Initially, the driver of the car that hit Mr Davey’s motorcycle fled the scene, but turned himself into the police the next day.
A Buddhist funeral will be held on September 28 at Wat Phothisomphon starting from 11:00. His cremation will be on September 28 at 16:00.
