The British Honorary Consular Agent for Koh Phangan was killed in a road accident on the nearby island of Koh Samui on Friday night.
Neal Bambridge, from York in the United Kingdom, had been living in Thailand for twelve years. He had been living on Koh Samui in the Gulf of Thailand for the last three years.
On the fateful night, Mr Bambridge had been riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle when he was hit by a speeding truck on Thawee Rat Phakdi Rd near the One Way Pub in the Maret subdistrict. The impact of the crash was so severe that his vehicle skidded across the road and crashed into two rental cars.
A friend of Mr Bambridge described him as a “die-hard Harley Davidson fan who loved his stout and British food”. Neal Bambridge is survived by his wife Ratchi and son Jorge.
