An Australian expatriate has died in a fatal head-on collision on Highway 304 in amphoe Wang Nam Khiao, Nakhon Ratchasima province Tuesday morning, the Thai news website Manager reports.

Pol Lt Col Grajai Tandaku from the provincial police station Udomsap said he was notified at around 10:00 in the morning about a road accident involving a Toyota Corolla and a six-wheeled truck which occurred between kilometer 241 and 242 on Highway 304.

Noel David Stevens, a 74-year-old Australian who was driving the Toyota Corolla, died in the crash whereas the truck driver sustained injuries. Mr Stevens’ car crashed head-on into the oncoming truck, crushing its front and killing him instantly.

According to the police, Mr Stevens had been living in Thailand for the past 24 years with his Thai wife who had passed away the year before after which he stayed alone in his house in Roi Et province.
