Peter Crossland

An English man was found dead inside his house in Pattaya Sunday afternoon, English language news website Pattaya One reported.

The body of Mr Peter Crossland, aged 62, was discovered inside his house close to Sukhumvit-Pattaya 73 Alley, Bang Lamung district. He was found by police officers after concerned neighbors had reported a foul odor coming from the building and had not seen the tenant for several days.

Police investigators suspect Mr Crossland, who was originally from Liverpool, England, had collapsed behind the front entrance to the house. The physical condition of the corpse suggested he had been dead for several days prior his discovery.

Neighbors told the police that they usually saw Mr Crossland on a daily basis. However, suspicion arose when none of them had seen Mr Crossland in the last week and started to notice a strange smell coming from his home.

Initial investigation did not find any signs of foul play. Officers believe Mr Crossland has died of a natural cause but have ordered a post-mortem examination to determine the definitive cause of death.

The British Embassy in Bangkok has been notified about the death.
