Peter John Nipar

A scooter crash in the northern province of Lamphun on Friday afternoon killed a 58-year-old US citizen.

Little is known about the road accident of 58-year-old John Peter Nipar. An online news website, CMPrice.com, for the northern provinces of Chiang Mai and Lamphun reported the death on February 25 though details are sparse and there was no description about the crash itself. According to the report, the accident happened on February 24 at around 16:00.

The post showed a picture of Mr Nipar’s black Honda scooter from the back that carried the licence plate งธย Chiang Mai 259. No vehicle damage was visible from the photograph.

Mr Nipar was a US citizen. His passport was issued in New York on March 3, 2011. Police are now looking for any relatives locally and have asked the public to call Pol Lt Sedudwuti Konsung at the Nikomudsahagam Provincial Police Station (tel: +66 (0) 888948276) if they have any information. Alternatively, they can contact Lamphun Hospital, where Mr Nipar’s body had been sent, on 66 5356 9100.
