A foreigner and his Thai wife were killed in a road accident in the late afternoon of February 2. Ronald Clark, 73, and 51-year-old wife Butni Clark were driving on Phetkasem road heading north when Mr Ronald Clark apparently lost control of his car.
Pol Sub Lt Supapon Duanganya from the police station in central Prachuap Khiri Khan was informed at around 17:00 of the accident. When police arrived on scene, they found the Chevrolet half way in a canal about 20 meters next to the road, submerging the front 50 centimeters.
Rescue workers carried both Mr Ronald Clark and Mrs Butni Clark out of the car and attempted resuscitation, but to no avail. The spouses were declared dead on scene.
The incident took place close to kilometer 287, not far from the Si Yaek Bo Nok temple in Mueang Prachuap Khiri Khan district of Prachuap Khiri Khan province. The bodies were brought to Prachuap Khiri Khan Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
