Sai Lon

In the early hours of Monday, a 21-year-old Burmese man died following a head-on collision with a car driven by a Chinese businessman.

The crash occurred on Pattaya’s Second Rd in front of Soi 9 just before 04:30 and resulted in the death of Mr Sai Lon. CPR was administered at the scene and he was rushed to a nearby hospital but doctors were not able to save his life.

The 30-year-old Chinese driver of the red BMW X1 claimed there was nothing he could have done to avoid the collision with the bike. He testified to police that it was driving in the wrong direction along the one-way street.

The details behind the crash were confirmed by a motorbike taxi driver stationed nearby. The procedure states that the driver of the car must be arrested and he was taken to Pattaya Police Station. He has yet to be charged as the investigation into the crash continues.
