Little is known about a traffic accident between a motorcycle and a truck that left a Burmese migrant worker dead in Chiang Mai this afternoon.
As a local Chiang Mai news website reports, police and rescue workers arrived at 16:45 in front of Chiang Mai University to find the body of Sai Sai, a 21-year-old Burmese guest worker. His Overseas Identification Card listed him as “general worker” who was employed in Mueang subdistrict, Chiang Mai district.
With the help of bystanders who witnesses the fatal crash, police tried to reconstruct the event. Eyewitnesses saw Mr Sai racing his motorcycle along 99 Huaykaew Rd when he suddenly swerved and was thrown off his vehicle. A truck following the motorbike could not stop in time in ran Mr Sai over, killing him instantly, even though he was wearing a helmet.
Mr Sai’s body has been transported to Siamrad Chiangmai Hospital where pathologists are going to perform an autopsy.
