Stewart Middleton, 25, was killed on February 25 by head injuries on the idyllic Thai island of Koh Phangan last week.
Mr Middleton from England was travelling with 10 others when he suffered a nasty fall and is believed to have fatally bumped his head during one of the regular Full Moon Parties held on the island.
Thousands of tourists flock to the all-night parties held on the beach, where they paint their faces with luminous paint and drink from buckets of alcohol in what has come to be known as a backpacker rite of passage.
Stewart, a keen rugby player from Knighton, Powys, was on a dream holiday with ten friends. But disaster struck at the event on February 25th. He was taken to hospital but could not be saved.
His death was revealed on Friday when friends and family announced plans for a funeral. The Foreign Office confirmed a death on the Thai island.
