Vale Eddie Carey

Serious health issues lead to the death of a British foreigner. He died at his home with his wife by his side.

Vale Eddie Carey, whose age has not been mentioned online, passed away of what physicians assume to be a heart attack. Mr Carey had been suffering from various health problems before that might have contributed to his death.

The information was first published in the Udon Map, an online forum for expatriates living in Udon Thani and nearby provinces. Users there described him as “a real character” and appreciated his “direct forth right attitude”.

Mr Carey and his wife were both in charge of two bars, Pins Cafe and Eddie’s Sports Bar in Ban Dung district which was highly frequented by foreigners. However, Eddie’s Sports Bar was sold in 2015 to an Australian who shortly later decided to find another owner himself.

His cremation was scheduled to take place on March 19 at 13:00 in the Ban Thung Kwang Patana village where Mr Carey had been living with his wife.
